ESC Policies & Procedures

Program Policies, Procedures & Waiver

This policy covers all programs, activities, workshops and events offered by Edmonton Seniors Centre.

Responsibilities:

Edmonton Seniors Centre, staff, instructors and/or volunteers cannot be held liable for any physical injuries during any of its events, programs and activities.

Admission Requirements:

Members registering for programs will be given priority over associate members, reciprocal members, and non-members.
  • Associate members are those persons under the age of 55.
  • Reciprocal members, who receive the same discount for regular programs as ESC members, are those with a current membership at: Central Lions, Northgate Lions, SAGE, South East Edmonton Seniors Association, Calder Seniors, West End Seniors Activity Centre, Strathcone PLace Society, Jewish Drop-In Centre or St. Albert Citizens Club.
  • All non-members will be charged an additional fee.

Registration

Registration will take place at the back office desk.
Full payment is due at time of registration.
  • Programs must have the minimum number of participants registered one week prior to the program start date to proceed.
  • Participants are not registered until the program fees have been paid.
  • Late registration will be allowed ONLY if space permits. Payment will be due in full at that time.
  • The Centre reserves the right to cancel programs with insufficient registration, at which time refunds will be issued to those who have paid.
  • Drop-in registrations are allowed only in the Social programs (i.e. - Bridge, Carpet Bowling, etc.).  Drop-in fees for these activities are payable at the main desk prior to the beginning of each activity.
  • No drop-in registration is allowed in the instructor-led classes.

Payment Method:

  • Cash, Debit, Credit, Apple pay or cheque, at least one week prior to the program start date.
  • Receipts will be issued for program registration; they are not tax-deductible.
  • Financial assistance may be available in certain circumstances. Please discuss with the Assistant Executive Director or the Executive Director.

Withdrawal:

Withdrawal from a program does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Refunds:

No program fees will be refunded unless the program is cancelled by Edmonton Seniors Centre.
